My old blog vs. new blog

http://manojranaweera.wordpress.com (last posted on 29/01/07) continues to be more popular than http://www.manojranaweera.com. Here is a comparison of the two blogs:

WordPress hosted

Hits: 16,082

Google page rankings: 5 

Technorati rankings: Rank: 129,676 (104 links from 31 blogs)

Self-hosted (somewhere on earth)

Hits:  14,841

Google page rankings: 0

Technorati rankings:  Rank: 462,695 (15 links from 9 blogs)

This is frustrating! The question I keep asking myself is should I shut down the old blog?

Bit of advice: If you are thinking of starting a blog and can read your future, do make the effort to host it under your own URL to avoid above situation.

    Now that I am getting about 40 hits a day (old blog had about 100), why isn’t the google page ranking improving? It still shows big zero :sad:
