Sam and Ivan,

Yes I am interested. I know few VCs and IT companies in the Manchester and Merseyside areas. My initial thoughts are to run a monthly event alternatively in Manchester and Liverpool. Perhaps we can use Tiger Tiger in Manchester and another venue in Liverpool. It makes sense to combine our efforts and learn from the event scene in London.

I need help in organising this as all my energy is diverted to getting ebdex off the ground. How do you manage the administration and logistic side of event organisation.

In terms of publicity, it makes sense to attract the London crowd for the first event, especially few VCs and business angels.

I will speak to few people here. Perhaps we can also get some corporate sponsorship. I have a meeting with KPMG this week and will pop the question.

Let me know your thoughts.

Manoj,
The answer to 'are there any of these sort of events in my part of the country?' is - Organise one yourself. Easy enough to do - find a venue, invent a name, give it a theme, invite a range of people, blog it, put the word out and hey presto, you are at the centre of the networking world ... try it.
